Biography
Dr. Urquhart has a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies from Dalhousie University. She is a cancer health services researcher and implementation scientist. Her research spans the entire cancer continuum, from cancer risk assessment to survivorship and end-of-life care. Her prime foci relate to access to, quality of, and equity in cancer care, and improving patient and health system outcomes. Dr. Urquhart is the Nova Scotia Lead for the Terry Fox Research Institute’s Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network and Scientific Lead, Patient Engagement for the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit. In 2016, Dr. Urquhart led the development of the Pan-Canadian Framework for Cancer Survivorship Research for the Canadian Cancer Research Alliance, an alliance of >35 cancer research funders in Canada.
